Configure a pop-up store to sell iPad2s to attendees of the 2011 SXSW Apple and even some models.
AUSTIN - 2011 SXSW brings 20,000 early to the center of Austin, Texas every year, but this year 2 Apple iPad went on sale at the same time. What is a gadget-loving Web Professional, do? Apple made things a little easier by opening a temporary "pop-up" store a few blocks from the Convention Center. On Friday, the lines were around the block. Today, it is only another busy, Apple store.
The pop-up store sales were vigorous despite the fact that there are two other stores Apple in Austin, which are about 30 million dollars in annual business combined. The demand for the iPad2 is driven in part by the fact that Apple does not accept orders on the device, forcing potential early to brave lines in sale retail stores.
Local Austin John Muehlbauer was the first in line for the new device, getting the store around 6: 30 in the morning, Friday, hours from 10.5 complete before that they would open up the doors.
To build the store, Apple refurbished a 5,000 square feet of space over gymnastics of a gold at the Congress Avenue in downtown Austin. Although the rental contract is for two weeks only, the installation is quite polished, with kiosks selling retail, uniformed sales representatives, wall decorations even and window displays.
The iPad 2 has been shown also popular outside of Austin. Analyst of Piper Jaffray a managing administrative Gene Munster has at least 1,190 people in line outside the store of Apple in New York City when the device went on sale at 5 PM withdraw the submission of more shots at the Fifth Ave store and across the country.
